The Badgers Sett Enterprise Challenge is open to young people aged 19 or under, and has three age ranges - under 16's, 16-18 year olds and 19 year olds (up to 21 if you are in formal/informal education or training), individuals or groups may apply. You must be living in Hull and have an enterprising idea such as a new business idea, a co-operative, a community enterprise project or an enterprising school/college project.
Prize money for the winners of each section is as follows:
Under 11: Up To £500
16 and under section: Up To £750
16-18 year old section: Up To £1000
19 year old section (up to 21 if you are in formal/informal education or training): Up To £1500
The winners of each section will pitch to double their winnings at Global Entrepreneurship Week in November 2011.
In order to be eligible to challenge Ruth Badger in her Sett you need to be no older than 21 and in formal/informal education or training, you need to live in Hull and want to establish your idea/business in the city and it must be realistic and viable. You cannot use any winnings to pay off past debts, only for what is laid out in your pitch.
You or one person developing your idea must be willing to be the responsible person and all applications must have with it a letter, signed by a responsible adult aged over 21; this can be a parent, guardian, teacher, youth worker or business adviser. If you don't have anyone who can do this you will need to call Hull Youth council on 585297.
As well as the cash prize, winners will be given the opportunity to work with a successful entrepreneur to help your venture grow.
